Be able to summarize the factors that led to the French Revolution.

Be able to describe the creation of the National Assembly and the motives behind the storming of the Bastille.

Be able to identify and analyze the images, symbols and ideals of the Revolution.

Be able to understand the emotional importance of the Great Fear and the women’s march on Versailles.

Be able to explain and cite examples relating to the course of the revolution from Louis XVI to Napoleon – the first revolution, the counter revolution, the radical phase, Napoleon and the conservative phase.
