Develop and maintain, through a consistent, ongoing process of selection and production, a well-balanced, multi-media collection of materials which represent diverse points of view on current as well as historic issues.

Provide awareness of and access to district, community, regional, state, and national resources and information.

Provide consultation and assistance in designing learning activities and in overall curriculum planning and the buiding and district level.

Provide assistance in identifying, locating and using materials.

Provide an integrated instructional approach, planned and implemented jointly by teachers and media specialists, to teaching the library skills of locating, selecting, evaluating, using, producing, and appreciating media.

Encourage the effective use of appropriate information technologies through investigation, inservice, acquisition, and support.
7.
Provide at building and district levels sufficient equipment in good repair for the use and production of materials in the collection.
8.
Provide LMC facilities of such size and design as to ensure a positive environment for individual, small group, and large group work.
