Wow… I can’t believe that the 2012 – 2013 school year is coming to a close! The end of the school year always seems to arrive too quickly. The thoughts of end-of-the-year school events, outside activities, and the coming summer vacation sometimes can distract us from what’s most important during the month of May and early June. Please continue to encourage your child to finish this school year strong by putting forth their best effort every day.
In reflecting on this school year, I would like to THANK the students, parents, and staff members of Grant Elementary for all of the hard work and dedication in making our school such a wonderful place of learning! Everyone can be proud of the many accomplishments and successes experienced this school year! I feel extremely fortunate to have landed at a school that exemplifies doing “whatever it takes” in helping our students to reach their highest potential. Grant Elementary has a long standing tradition of academic excellence, and I look forward to working with students, parents and staff towards continuous improvement in all that we do. I believe the path to success can best be traveled when parents and educators work together.
To the students and families who are not returning to Grant Elementary next school year, please know you will be missed and we wish you the best of luck at your new destination.
Lastly, the Grant Elementary Team would like to wish our sixth grade students the best of luck as they move on to middle school. It is our hope that our 6th graders will always look back on their time at Grant Elementary with great memories. I am confident that we are sending them on their way with a solid foundation of knowledge and skills, and I know they will represent Grant Elementary well in all of their future endeavors. We will all miss their energy, spirit, and leadership!
Parents, information regarding next school year will be coming your way in early August. This will include: details regarding the Grant Elementary Open House (August 29th, 5:00-6:30 p.m.), teacher welcome letter, and the Grant Elementary Need To Know sheet.
Everyone have a relaxing, safe and eventful summer vacation!
