Official Transcript - This is a transcript sent directly by the Parchment electronic transcript service or by Marshfield High School to a college, scholarship organization or employer. Most universities, technical colleges, and employers require an official transcript. Official transcripts needed for scholarships will be free.
Unofficial Transcript - This is a transcript that is given or mailed directly to the student, or to the parent if the student is not yet eighteen. Even if the transcript is in a sealed envelope, it must be stamped unofficial if it is given to the person. Some scholarship organizations will accept an unofficial transcript. Unofficial transcripts are free.
Transcript Release Form- Current students and former students from the Class of 1995 to the present should order official transcripts from Parchment. All those who were students prior to the Class of 1995 need to send a completed transcript release form (see link below to download form) and $7 (check made out to MHS with transcript fee in memo line) to: Counseling Department Secretary, Marshfield High School, 1401 E. Becker Road, Marshfield, WI 54449.Include the name you had in high school and the address to which you want the official transcript sent.
Transcript Fees - For current MHS students, the final official transcript is free. Students will be asked to provide the name of the school they would like their official transcripts sent to. Beginning on January 24, 2011, the fee for electronic official transcripts will be $5.00 and $7 for mailed transcripts. Current students who are eligible for free or reduced lunch should see their counselor before requesting transcripts in order to be able to receive four free official transcripts.
Class Rank Information - As of August 17, 2010, class rank will no longer be listed on the transcript, per the Marshfield School Board. A permission form is needed in order for a student's class rank to be released. It can be downloaded from the Counseling Department website.
How long will it take us to send a transcript? Electronic transcripts will be sent by Parchment. Every effort will be made to approve them by the next work day after they are requested. Students should remember that, during school vacations, there may be days when no one is working in the counseling department and therefore transcripts will not be able to be approved for sending.
