What Is CRC?

The Core Resource Center is an all-inclusive, integrated approach to study hall.

The purpose of the CRC is to help students become self-starters and independent learners. The CRC functions to support and encourage the learning of our students and is not a homework completion program; it is a strategic tutoring program. Licensed educators staffing the CRC are ever-focused on helping students learn academic strategies, processes, and concepts while promoting homework completion.

The CRC functions within the regular school day offering three different methods for the students to receive service. First, students may be automatically assigned to the CRC for academic support as recommended by the previous year's teachers. Next, the students have the option to "drop-in" as they feel the need. Finally, a referral for support may be made by the core classroom teachers, in which case, the students would be assigned to the CRC for at least a week until his/her core grade has improved, or until any misunderstood concepts have been made clear.

Since we welcome any questions regarding the CRC, please feel free to contact Dr. J. Hoese, CRC Administrator, or Mrs. G. Sisson, CRC staff member, with any questions you may have.

The Testing Center

The testing center is new to Marshfield Middle School. The testing center was created for students to drop by on their study hall time to make up a test or quiz missed due to absence.

The testing center is also open from 7:00 to 3:30 to accommodate any students who may not have a study hall.
