Meadow sedges as described by Dr. Norwood in 1847 and Pickerel Weed in the channel to the portage. The balsam trees in the background indicate the low water portage route from the Manitowish River.
The Pickerel weed chokes the channel to the high ground terrace for the route of 6-Pause Portage in higher water.
