Logging Road continues into a more open area file with hawthorns. These exotic bushes suggest that this area was the site of earlier homes, agriculture, or disrupting of native soils. Be careful not to get scratched up!

View from the elevated terrace of land overlooking the Manitowish River basin. Just down the hill is a channel covered in pickerel weed that can be navigated in high water to the main river channel. In low water a portage over the meadow sedges must be made.
